All aircraft movements were stopped due to an IT issue that arose around 08:30.
Several flyers found themselves stranded in planes on the runway while the issue persisted.
Operations Restart with Residual Impact
The airport confirmed at 10:40 that operations had restarted, and thanked passengers for their "patience and understanding".
That said, significant disruption are anticipated to continue throughout the day. Services bound for key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been cancelled, with a host of additional flights subject to postponements.
Officials had initially projected that a significant number of movements could be affected.
"Passengers are advised to contact their airlines for the current status on their individual travel plans," officials reiterated.
Root of the Disruption
Officials linked the operational halt to an technical fault with its control tower systems vendor.
